Company Information
Attached to locally produced rice and pure rice Sake
Located south of the Biwa Lake, the soil of Kōga used to be part of the bottom of the same lake in ancient times. The result today is a very fertile soil and a high quality clay called "Zurinko" by the locals where high quality rice has been produced since long ago giving the region the surname of "The Rice Granary of the Kansai". Additionally, Kōga is blessed with infiltrated water coming from the Suzuka mountain range giving the perfect conditions to obtain a refined and high quality Sake. Please enjoy the traditional taste of our Sake achieved with inherited ancestral techniques.

Brewmaster  Toshiyuki Ueno

Here is the village of the Ninja
The country of Ōmi (Ancient name of Shiga prefecture) at the foot of mount Kōga is well-known to be the birthplace of the Ninja. Moreover, here in the south of the lake Biwa, the village is surrounded by the abundant nature of the Suzuka mountain range.
The harsh cold of the winter and the plentiful natural pure water is perfect for making Sake. Since 1869, Seko Brewery is firmly attached to locally produced rice and pure Sake.
